Accessibility
Accessibility statement
We want dailybrief to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or captions. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we provide
- Every audio briefing and podcast has a full written transcript, and on-screen captions while it plays.
- All controls, including the story slider and the player, work with a keyboard; the slider pauses on hover and focus and can be stopped.
- Motion is reduced automatically if your device asks for reduced motion, and the slider does not auto-play then.
- Light and dark themes, readable type sizes, and layouts that work at 400% zoom and on small screens.
- A "Skip to the briefing" link, clear headings and landmark regions for screen-reader navigation.
Known limitations
- Story images come from publishers and usually have no meaningful description, so we treat them as decorative; the headline and summary carry the information.
- Captions are timed automatically and may run slightly ahead of or behind the voice.
- Pages we link to are run by other organisations and may not meet the same standard.
